I have been to Thailand three times now, and it remains one of my favourite countries. I love the food, the people, the shopping and the beaches!
Based on two people, travelling on a budget we spent 10,225 THB over 7 days (approx. £204 or £327), which works out at £29 / $47 a day.
We mostly stayed in private rooms with fans (occasionally w/ air-con), ate at local food stalls/restaurants, had 1-2 alcoholic drinks a night, and hired a motorbike to explore the islands. If you wanted to stay at hotels with air-con (all the time), eat in fancy tourist restaurants, and get drunk every night then the below prices will increase!
Days 1 - 2 were spent in Koh Samui, and days 3 - 7 in Koh Phangan.

Although Thailand can be a very cheap destination, the Thai Islands are so expensive, especially when you are a solo traveler. We managed to stick to our $25 budget, but it was pretty difficult as you feel like having more and more food and drinks. You did pretty well. Great details!
